Wave energy converter
When speaking about wave energy conversion it is mostly about finding the right solutions in terms of harvesting and turning wave power into electrical energy. Many companies have tried and failed at this already, and it is a difficult task due to a lot of reasons. One is the very tough conditions the wave energy converter systems must endure. In very bad weather the waves can get so high that they simply destroy the wave power systems. This means that the systems need to be built simplistic and very strong. This makes is difficult to add to many advanced mechanics into the design.
Waves at sea behave in a very random fashion. The current and direction of the waves can change from minute to minute, and it is therefore important also to built a design that accommodates all current directions. There is a need for a good wave energy converter, and the potential is great, only the many challenges have not yet made anyone succeed in inventing the perfect system.
There is a lot of environmental things to think off when creating machinery which need to be launched into the sea and lie there permanently. When the energy has been created one of the big obstacles is also to transport it into shore, store it and save it for further use. So as you can see it is very complex to work with this kind of technology, and we can only hope that the perfect system will soon be created so that we can begin benefiting from it.
